Companies Say Goodbye to Products & Services Page on LinkedIn

byebyebyeIf you look at your company’s products and services page on LinkedIn—wait, you can’t anymore.

As of April 14th, LinkedIn has removed the products and services page from company profiles. The reasoning behind this is simple: just as Facebook changes its layout on a periodic basis to remove any deficiencies and optimize the user’s experience (which we mostly grin and bear), LinkedIn is doing the same.

Before you panic (because we sort of did), you have not lost the ability to share what your business can provide on LinkedIn! In fact, LinkedIn has released new Showcased Pages and Company Updates that will better portray your services and portfolio.

Showcased pages will branch off your main profile and lead information seekers to a new page dedicated solely to your services and work. While this means you have to dedicate some extra time to build and populate the page, it gives you an opportunity to clean up your profile and provide visitors with the most up to date information about your company. The best news of all? People can now follow your company’s Showcased page, along with your company profile, to stay up-to-date with your products and services.

Company Updates, or “status updates”, can be made by anyone who is classified as an administrator of the page (kind of like the administrative panel on Facebook). You will use the Company Updates feature to keep the conversation moving by posting and sharing items like company news, promotions, relevant industry articles, SlideShare presentations, and YouTube videos.

You should also take note of the analytics tab at the top of your company’s home page, where you can review page impressions, reach, engagement, etc. to determine how well your updates are performing on a regular basis.

Now that you’re up to speed on the newly formatted LinkedIn page for your company’s profile, take some time to focus on updating your personal profile as well. Get up to date info and tips from the DMA Solutions team in our new eBook titled, “LinkedIn for Produce Professionals.”
